Osage Pecan Company Recalls Raw Spanish Peanuts and Roasted and Salted Spanish Peanuts.

March 4, 2009 -- Osage Pecan Company of Butler, MO is recalling all Raw Spanish Peanuts and Roasted and Salted Spanish Peanuts sold under the label Osage Pecan Company in 1 pound packages and 30 pound cases between the dates of September 22nd, 2008 and February 1st, 2009. These peanuts were produced at Peanut Corporation of America in Plainview, TX which is under investigation for salmonella contamination.

No illnesses have been reported from Osage's Raw Peanuts or Roasted and Salted Spanish Peanuts and all independent testing done on Osage Raw Peanuts have tested negative for salmonella.

Osage is issuing this recall as a precautionary safety action.

No other Osage Peanut products are a part of this recall.

Consumers who have purchased Osage Raw Peanuts or Roasted and Salted Spanish Peanuts between the dates of September 22nd, 2008 and February 1st, 2009 may return them to Osage Pecan Company for a full refund.
