Humboldt Creamery Recalls Product Because of Possible Health Risk.

March 18, 2009 - Humboldt Creamery, CA is recalling its Nutty Supreme Cone product 18 fl. oz with UPC Number - 52319 30402 and expiration dates of 10/09/2009 (Lot # 28308 MFD 100908 EXP 100909 PLT06-2988) and 10/10/2009 (Lot # 28408 MFD 101008 EXP 101009 PLT06-2988) due to concerns over possible contamination with Salmonella.

Product was sold nationwide, mostly in the western US through retail stores between 10/10/2008 and 01/31/2009.

This is the only product with the above lot codes that is involved in this recall. No other product or lot codes are being recalled. Humboldt Creamery has not received any consumer illness complaints associated with its products. The Nutty Supreme Cones were manufactured using peanut parts sourced from the Peanut Corporation of America’s (PCA) Georgia manufacturing facility. PCA has initiated its own nationwide recall due to Salmonella contamination. Humboldt Creamery has stopped using any of PCA’s peanut products since then.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled products should return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
