Chocolate Chewies, Inc. Recalls Baba Joon’s Peanut Chocolate Chewie Cookies.


March 12, 2009 -- Chocolate Chewies, Inc., of Eugene, OR is recalling Baba Joon’s Peanut Chocolate Chewie cookies, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The cookies were manufactured using peanut products recalled by Peanut Corporation of America because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Peanut Chocolate Chewies were distributed in Eugene, OR; Newtown, CT; East Meadow, NY; and Coral Springs, FL. via internet sales and wholesale orders. The product was packaged in either heat-sealed cello bags, 5 cookies per bag, or in transparent plastic boxes containing 20-25 loose cookies. The products do not have a UPC or lot codes. The bags and boxes were labeled “Baba Joon’s Chocolate Chewies,” “Peanut.” The cookies are no longer available for sale.
