Kruse Farms Market Recalls Honey Roasted Peanuts.


March 17, 2009 -- Kruse Farms Market of Roseburg, Oregon is recalling its privately labeled honey roasted peanuts, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The honey roased peanuts were manufactured using peanuts recalled by Peanut Corporation of American because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.

he honey roasted peanuts were distributed nationwide in privately purchased holiday gift baskets and also sold individually at the Farm Market in Roseburg, Oregon.

The honey roasted peanuts were packaged in 5 inch by 8 inch clear zip lock bags carrying the Kruse Farms Market label and were available for sale from October of 2007 through January of 2009. The label includes “Honey Roasted Peanuts, Kruse Farms Inc., Roseburg, OR 97471”. No specific codes including UPC, lot, or expiration dates are found on the label.

No known illnesses have been reported to date in connection with these honey roasted peanuts. The recall was initiated after it was determined that the honey roasted peanuts were manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America. Kruse Farms Market has informed the FDA of its actions and is fully cooperating with the Agency.
