Amy’s Decadent Chocolates Recalls Peanut Brittle & Caramel Apples with Peanuts and Caramel Apples with Peanuts Milk Chocolate and White Pastel.


March 20, 2009 -- Amy’s Decadent Chocolates LLC of Bremerton, Washington is recalling Peanut Brittle, Caramel Apples with peanuts and Caramel apples covered with peanuts and milk chocolate and white pastel, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The products were manufactured using peanut products recalled by Peanut Corporation of America because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The products were distributed between June 2008 and March 19, 2009 out of our retail store in Bremerton, Washington and via our web site.

Product Information:

* Peanut Brittle, 4 oz bags, label states “Amy’s Decadent Chocolates”
* Caramel apples covered with peanuts, packaged in cello bags, label states “Amy’s Decadent Chocolates”
* Caramel Apples covered with peanuts milk chocolate and white pastel, packaged in cello bags, also known as the Peanut Delight label states “Amy’s Decadent Chocolates”

Products contain no lot code or UPC code information.

No known illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product/these products. The recall was initiated after it was determined that the peanut product received was manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America. Amy’s Decadent Chocolates LLC has informed FDA of its actions and is fully cooperating with the Agency.
