Wegmans Food Markets Announces Voluntary Recall of Three Patisserie Products Made with Pistachio Nuts.




Rochester, NY – April, 9, 2009 - Wegmans announces a voluntary recall of White Chocolate Bark Candy, Raspberry Custard and Pineapple Almond Tarts, all made with pistachio nuts that have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. This recall is a result of the recent expansion of the Setton Farms pistachio nut recall.

he recalled tarts would have been purchased on or after October 8, 2008. The recalled bark candy would have been purchased on or after December 1, 2008. Each tart is available in a small (3 inches) and large (8 inches) size. The white chocolate bark candy is sold in random weight cellophane bags.

The affected products are as follows:
Large (8 inch) Raspberry Custard Tart, UPC 2-08499-00000
Large (8 inch) Pineapple Almond Tart, UPC 2-08484-00000
Small (3 inch) Raspberry Custard Tart, UPC 2-08488-00000
Small (3 inch) Pineapple Almond Tart, UPC 2-08490-00000
White Chocolate Bark with Pistachio Nuts Candy, random weight, UPC 2-08236-00000

There have been no cases of Salmonellosis reported to date in connection with these products, which were distributed to select Wegmans stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, and Maryland.

Customers should return product to Wegmans for a full refund, and if there are questions, they may call Wegmans Consumer Affairs Department, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT at 1-800-934-6267.
