Albanese Confectionery Group, Inc. Conducts Nationwide Recall Of Pistachio Products.

Merrillville, IN -- 4/10/09 -- Albanese Confectionery Group, Inc. of Merrillville, Indiana manufactures nut products which contain pistachios supplied by Setton Pistachio and also distributes pistachio products purchased from Setton Pistachio. Albanese is voluntary recalling their products containing pistachios because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The pistachio products were sold and distributed by Albanese Confectionery Group, Inc. nationwide, through email orders, phone orders and faxed orders.

The products under recall are labeled as follows:

Shelled Pistachios R/S, net wt. 25 lbs., Albanese Confectionary Group, Merrillville, IN (no UPC code). [note: R/S means roasted and salted]

Shelled Pistachios R/NS, net wt. 25 lbs., Albanese Confectionary Group, Merrillville, IN (no UPC code). [note: R/NS means roasted, no salt]

Deluxe Mix Nuts salt, net wt. 30 lbs., Albanese Confectionary Group, Merrillville, IN (no UPC code).

Deluxe Mix Nuts, R&NS, net wt. 30 lbs., Albanese Confectionary Group, Merrillville, IN (no UPC code).

Any Albanese shipping boxes containing bulk bags of shelled raw pistachios; large red pistachios, roasted and salted and/or naturally roasted and salted pistachios.

The lot codes under recall are lot 8246 through 9098.

No illnesses have been reported to us to date.

Albanese Confectionery Group, Inc. became aware of the recall by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, California through recent press releases.

Consumers should quarantine the product until further notice. Consumers with questions may call us at 219-942-1877, M-F 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT.
