Tillamook Country Smoker Recalls Pistachios.


April 7, 2009 -- Tillamook Country Smoker of Bay City, Oregon is recalling 1.5 oz. (42 g) and 1 lb. Packages of Pistachios (Salted in Shell), because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The products were manufactured using pistachios recalled by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The 1.5 oz. packages of Pistachios were distributed and sold nationwide through retail stores, distribution centers or via the Internet. One pound (1 lb.) packages were sold in the onsite retail store located in Bay City, OR.

Pistachios were packaged in a 1.5 oz. (42 g) and 1 lb. plastic packages and labeled “Tillamook Country Smoker Pistachios”. Affected products have a “Sell By Date” ranging from 07 30 09 through 12 17 09. The 1.5 oz. package has a UPC code of “051943500607”, and there is no UPC code on the 1 lb. package.

No known illnesses have been reported to date in connection with these products. The recall was initiated after it was determined that the pistachio product received was manufactured by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. Tillamook Country Smoker has informed FDA of its actions and is fully cooperating with the Agency.

Consumers who have purchased Tillamook Country Smoker Pistachios are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
