The Palmer Candy Company initiated the voluntary recall in response to the FDA issuing a recall for all products produced out of the Peanut Corporation of America, Plainview, TX plant. The recall is for all peanuts received from Peanut Corporation of America, Plainview, TX from January 1, 2007 to February 10, 2009.

Palmer candy has not received any consumer illness complaints associated with its products. However, it is taking precautionary steps, including removing the impacted products from retail store shelves and the entire distribution system.

US Nutrition, Inc. Conducts Nationwide Recall 0f Met-Rx Protein Plus Chocolate Roasted Peanut Bars With Caramel Due to Possible Health Risk

March 5, 2009 -- U.S. Nutrition announces a voluntary recall of Met-Rx Protein Plus Chocolate Roasted Peanut with Caramel Bars because the products involved contain peanuts which are subject to the expanded recall of products produced by Peanut Corporation of America's (PCA) Plainview, Texas facility. This PCA facility is the subject of an investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) concerning a recent Salmonella outbreak.

All lots with expiration dates of January 1, 2010 and earlier are affected by this recall. hese products have been sold nationwide through distributors, retailers, and directly to customers through internet sales.

U.S. Nutrition has not received any reports of consumer illness complaints regarding these products.

Turkey Hill Dairy Expands Voluntary Ice Cream Recall To Include “Movie Night” Flavor.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (February 27, 2009) – Turkey Hill Dairy of Lancaster County, Pa., is adding its Dynamic Duos Movie Night Ice Cream to its list of voluntarily recalled products because it contains peanut ingredients from the Plainview, Texas, facility of the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA).

"Turkey Hill remains committed to our customers, the highest quality of our products, and food safety for our consumers" said Quintin Frey, president of Turkey Hill Dairy. "Yet we want to honor the FDA's request and for that reason, we have voluntarily recalled our Dynamic Duos Movie Night flavor."

Dynamic Duos Movie Night is a new flavor and has limited production and distribution. The product has been distributed in very limited quantities to grocery, food and convenience stores in the following markets:

Turner Holdings, LLC Announces Voluntary Recall Due to Potentially Contaminated Peanuts.

March 4, 2009 -- Turner Holdings of Covington, Tennessee is recalling approximately 80,024 units of various ice cream flavors because the chocolate coated peanuts in the ice cream was supplied by Kerry Ingredients & Flavours and it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

These products were sold by Turner to distributors in Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri and Texas and were sold through grocery stores, supermarkets, dollar stores, drug stores and discount stores.

No illnesses have been reported or related to these products.

The recall was initiated when Turner Holdings, LLC was notified that Kerry Ingredients & Flavours was recalling the chocolate covered peanuts used to manufacture the listed products.

Consumers that have this product should not consume it. They should discard the ice cream but take the packaging back to the location of purchase for a full refund.

Abbott Nutrition Announces Voluntary Recall of ZonePerfect.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 16, 2009 — Abbott Nutrition today announced that it is initiating a precautionary, voluntary recall of ZonePerfect® Chocolate Caramel Cluster bars, Champions™ Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars by EAS,® and Glucerna® Chocolate Peanut bars, in connection with the expanded recall of peanut ingredients manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA). No other Glucerna or EAS products are affected.

Abbott Nutrition is taking this action as a precautionary measure because peanut granules in these bars were sourced from the PCA plant in Plainview, Texas. Since Abbott Nutrition conducts extensive quality testing prior to distribution, the company has no reason to believe there is a health or safety issue with the impacted bars.

This action completes Abbott Nutrition’s recall of all products containing ingredients from PCA. Abbott Nutrition no longer uses PCA as a supplier for any ingredients.

The impacted bars were distributed nationally through retail stores and direct delivery. Abbott is working with retail partners to remove the specified products from retail store shelves. Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are urged to destroy them. Consumers with questions should contact Abbott Nutrition Consumer Relations at (800) 986-8884, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern time.

Abbott Nutrition previously announced a recall of certain other nutrition bars – ZonePerfect Chocolate Peanut Butter bars, ZonePerfect Peanut Toffee bars, and NutriPals Peanut Butter Chocolate bars – that contained other peanut ingredients supplied by the PCA plant in Blakely, Ga. No other Abbott Nutrition products are being recalled.
